Resources for Potential Members

One of the easiest ways to get involved in the UK community is to explore our fraternity and sorority community. Not all of your undergraduate education can be learned in a classroom or textbook. There are certain lessons and skills you will learn through shared experiences and relationships. Joining a fraternity or sorority at the University of Kentucky is a great way to get involved on campus, participate in community service and philanthropic activities, form life-long friendships, and have opportunities for leadership and personal development. Below are resources and information to help you learn more about what it means to be a fraternity man or sorority woman. Making the decision to be a member of a fraternity or sorority is a life-long commitment, and we want to provide you with all of the information to make an informed choice about which organization will be right for you. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact us through the links to the right or fill out an information request form using the button below.

Hazing Prevention

Membership in a fraternity or sorority should help you grow as a student, leader, and friend. This growth is not achieved through hazing or other destructive activities. The University of Kentucky has a no-tolerance policy for hazing. The University is involved in several projects and activities aimed at hazing prevention, education, and culture change in all organizations at the University--not just fraternities and sororities. You can learn more about the University's efforts at stophazing.uky.edu and view the University's Hazing Prevention Policy here.
